The Bauer family purchased Indian Rock Vineyards in 2003 with the intent of making high-quality, handcrafted estate wines. From the start, viticulturist and artisan winemaker Marco Cappelli has helped us grow spectacular fruit in our challenging little valley and created delicious wines that we are proud to serve.
At over 2,000 feet of elevation, our foothill climate enjoys both warm days and cool nights. Natural springs provide our vines with clear, fresh water throughout the year. The weather can be unpredictable—we’ve had some years with early frost, some years with late frost, and some years with both. We have endured hot spells that lasted weeks on end and through it all we’ve managed to grow fruit that represents our terroir.
Growing the fruit is only half of the process. Depending on harvests, we bottle approximately 18 different estate-grown varieties and more than 20 different wines. Marco’s talent and creativity is evident in each bottle of Indian Rock wine.
